Trying Harman Switch Azure in Sunny Brighton

This roll was an experiment with Harman Switch Azure. I have enjoyed using LomoChrome Turquoise in both 36mm & 120 so wanted to try Harman's Azure as a not very scientific or technical comparison. I picked a very sunny Saturday, loaded my Canon EOS3 with a roll and headed to Brighton. I deliberately choose familiar views but also tried some different subjects (I was interested to see how Smurfy people became).

My general view is that Harman Switch Azure is more punchy than LomoChrome Turquoise. In the images I have taken the skies appear a stronger Orange whereas with LomoChrome they have appeared more of a Pink. I would also say that some of the other colours have appeared muddier, the sea for example, than with LomoChrome. I would think that this is a result of Harman Switch having a generally stronger effect than I have achieved with LomoChrome.

Both films love bright sunny days and I have found architectural stone work particularly pleasing with both but I would say that LomoChrome is better with people. Again I think this is because I found the results to be slightly more subtle and Harman Switch to have more of a pop to it.

Which do I prefer? That's a tricky one as I used LomoChrome Turquoise first and had a lot of fun with it I will inevitably always compare Harman Switch to it. It's a bit like the first album you buy from a particular artist often remains your favourite even if it may not be their best.
